I'm a visual artist and Adie has been so thoughtful, considered, and open to working with me on creating tattoos from drawings I've sent her - the integrity of each piece astounds me every time I have the chance to reflect on them in conversation or on my own. The environment of Adie's studio at Burnt Canoe is clean as a whistle without feeling too sterile, it is serene and meditative, it smells good in there and is filled with original art from Adie and her studio-mate. The space carries the low hum of excitement that comes with new ink that makes you feel like you've stepped into a tarot deck. On top of a great environment and a clear mastery of the discipline, Adie's also just a cool person to talk to and quite in-tune with client's needs (e.g. asking about breaks, water/snacks, etc.). I would highly recommend booking with Adie and I'm stoked for our next appointment!

i had adie cover up an unfortunate pinterest tattoo i got when i was 19 and its now invisible- people always ask me what it’s even covering. i was nervous since it was in a painful spot, but she slapped some lidocaine on and the whole four hour appointment felt like chatting with a friend! the other tattoo i got from her, i think i made her change the placement of the stencil like, 10 times? she was so patient and made me feel so comfortable, i dont even live in nola anymore but i still know ill get another tat from her one day

I had such a good experience with Adie! I gave her a general idea of what I wanted and she was able to create something similar in her own style that I loved. When there was something I was unsure about I voiced it. Not only did she receive it very well, she worked with me to get exactly what I wanted perfectly. I then went back 6 months later for a touch up. Not much was needed, but i had some roots on my foot that tend to rub off easily. I've been tattooed twice by Adie, and both times were most memorable because of her level of consideration and care. The first time, my friend and I got Friday the 13th tattoos from Adie's flash because we loved how unique and ethereal they were. My friend was only in town for certain days, and Adie was so kind and flexible and managed to get us in. It was the day of a solar eclipse, which we kind of all forgot about, so during a break the three of us went outside to inspect. It's a funny little memory, and I think what makes Adie so different is that she really is In It when you have an appointment with her. So many dude bro tattooers would never go outside to look at the eclipse with you. BORING! For my second Adie tattoo, Adie had some flash I wanted to use for my knee. It was a mirror reflection doubling of the flash, so symmetry was important BUT it was surrounding a knee, an incredible asymmetrical part of your body! She worked with me for at least an hour to get the placement just right. I didn't even have to ask; it was just so important for her to do a good job so I'd love my tattoo. And guess what, I do! I have an appointment in October to add to it. Both my tattoos are over a year old now, and they are beautiful and timeless and I adore them so much.
